Even if we were to put a transparent proxy (which we really don't want to do but might need to do for CAI blocking*) it would still give you a uk site as all our IP addresses are link to the uk... (even the ones currently in use in Amsterdam or Frankfurt)
* Government have asked all ISPs to provide CAI blocking by the end of 2007 voluentarily, if they don't get the response rate as high as they would like then it'll become manditory.

CAI stands for Child Abuse Images and might be an excuse to further block other forms of content on the Internet such as the alternative media. Sure it's currently voluntary, but with this government, it soon becomes manditory. We'll find a lot more information censored if this becomes widespread in 2008.
It's a shame that they will use this good reason to block certain sites to block a whole load of sites that the government doesn't agree with.
This also will not stop the paedophiles who decide to use anonymous software such as The Onion Router (TOR).
