Hey guys,

Please take a look at the ConspiracyWiki and make a contribution. All you have to do is register to edit or create articles. Please take a look!

If you cant get your head around writing in the wiki but have done a lot of research that should be shown to the public then please feel free to add new topics to the ConspiracyWiki forum.

The Wiki isn't perfect yet ( ...help and editing topics to update). Big Kudos to Nercury for all his time and effort in tweaking the Wiki. Respect fella wink.gif

Hi Faust... the wiki is indeed a powerful thing. I'll try and contribute when I have som time. Thanks for reminding us its here smile.gif
faust
Great stuff Chris wink.gif

One question... Sorry if I sound like a noob, but how do I add new articles and topics to the wiki? All I can see is edit functions for existing articles.

For example, I'd like to add a section under "Ancient and Lost Civilizations" for Ancient life ways, tracking and other traditional technologies. How can I do that, do you know?
faust
No worries chris wink.gif

http://www.conspiracyresearch.org/wiki/ind...tle=Yourarticle

So the title of your article should be written in the url where (Yourarticle) is!

Hope this helps

Yeah guys, the wiki is a great idea and can be a brilliant tool for researchers.

I don't mean to sound a noob either blush.gif Is it only for news reports or can people post up their own research and link it to other bits and bobs of info.
And what would be the best place to post good reports? Do I keep putting them into the forum threads or into the wiki? Or both?

Slap me if I do sound a noob
faust
Personally, I wouldnt put in news reports unless you think they truly offer an objective perspective on what is
being written about. At the end of the day it's up to you. You could write an article and provide links from which
you've researched (to use as references), or you could submit an research article from a well known author.
Also, there's nothing stopping you from editing articles written by other users and submitting extra links which
you feel are pertinent
BazTraD
Cool,

I don't actually know how to use it properly so I doubt I'll be putting anything up myself.
I had a look and got lost pretty fast. I'm not that clued up on html or whatever it is it uses.
You're right about the content, as commentaries or the likes don't really fit a wiki.
Cypher
I agree with faust there - the Wiki should really be the product of our own research & findings, while at the same time linking back to substantiating evidence, articles & supporting documentation from widely-accepted and/or well-researched sources.

As I see it, the forums are ideal for everyone to contribute in collating masses of relevant documented evidence & then discussing it properly - both before & after it is changed. After seperating the wheat from the chaff, we can look to publishing our findings:
  • If you find substantial supportive evidence for a conspiracy, move it forward & publish those findings on the wiki. Conversely,
  • If you find sufficient evidence to negate the veracity of any conspiracy theory, then by publising those articles we might help save others a lot of time & energy
I'm personally of the opinion that time and energy spent on the former is, at this point, far more useful than on the latter.

If we can first prove what we know to be true, we have a stronger collective foundation. I'm not suggesting that any facts should be ignored, merely suggesting that we can & should be more productive:- rather than chasing wild geese, this is not the right place for advocates of Evis being alive & on the moon to postulate their theories. I don't believe that the best use of time & energy is attacking such "theories", but would instead far rather see CR.org being dedicated to proving conspiracy fact

On the other hand, blogs, however, are a much more personal thing. Apart from their use as a tool to collate information, links & ideas, I think the potential for comedic entertainment, a release valve, means of showing your personality in your personal space - anything - shouldn't be underestimated, but rather encouraged. Bloggers can choose to publish parts they wish to, or keep them private from other members. It's a bit like a scratchpad or diary, where you can record your own thoughts & findings, then publish them when you're ready. There are no restrictions on how you choose to use the blogs - it's entirely up to you. Everyone has their own interests & areas of knowledge / expertise, & blogs are possibly the best way of expressing that.

Having seen & experienced the difficulties of some of our affilliates, we have made a pont of paying for lifelong licences up front. Unless you want more from this site, we should never need to ask for any money to support us. It's already paid for, out of our own pockets. We'd like to provide as many tools as possible to help members collate evidence & findings, meet up with activists nearby, become more active & effective in the Infowar we're fighting, express opinions, linmk in to other useful sites, or simply enjoy having somewhere that you can actually relax a little amongst people who see things the same way as you do.

How you choose to use these resources is entirely up to you.

So, dinna fash yersel, jes git oan an' dae it; jes spier wis wi' onything ah micht hae missed. (y).gif

I'd love to fill up the ancient and lost civilizations section

can I
Cypher
Of course, please do smile.gif

Chris is also very interested in Ancient & Lost Civs, so I hope that this might be a well-populated section before too long.

It's not an area that I have had much time to study at all, so I would really like to see this section get off the ground, most especially with the evidence of how it all links into today's more widely-known aspects of the NWO conspiracy.

Many thanks for the help!

ok posted a few things

I want to add images, is there anyway to upload and link to images?

Im just afraid of linking to offsite images in the event the link dies

any ideas?
Cypher
Good thinking waxzy,

There are a couple of ways in which you could do this meantime, such as
  • Putting in the attachments in a forum post & then linking in from there, or
  • I could enable email attachments to be sent through your Control Panel email & then FTP them to a folder here for you to access.
However, I had considered the possibility that we might want the Invision Power Gallery add-on at some point, so I guess now would be as good a time as any to check this feature out. I definitely think that having the right tools at hand is the best option, as it enables people to just get on & do what they need.

Please hang fire & give me a few minutes, & I'll see what I can do.

no problem

I've added some subcategories and lotsa stuff to the wiki

I can add images once we figure out how its gonna work smile.gif
Cypher
Good news! (y).gif

Although I was afraid it might cost a fair bit more, the Invision Power Gallery addon is $65. I have now purchased it, so I'll keep you posted regarding when it will be up an running.

If you need a source to cite or just do research on Ancient and Lost Civilizations check out http://sacred-texts.com its got tons of information.

I think I actually ran into my first Icke documentary while searching for information about Atlantis... back before I got all tangled up in conspiracies. I love that stuff... I'm no good at Wiki though.
Cypher
Hey no3,

Since you're not at all comfortable with wiki editing, why not start a blog instead? There's several of us here who would be very happy to help transfer the info across to the wiki for you, & you can keep your blog entries hidden (unpublished) until you feel you've got everything straight & are ready to have it transferred to the wiki.

This was actually the main reason I bought the blog module: to make it easier for everyone to contribute if they want to. I do realise that wiki editing isn't something everyone wants to get involved in, but hope that shouldn't prevent members from being able to contribute to it if they so wish.

Alrighty, for now I used the external link option to link to one of my blogs. I'm a bit lazy on writing 'real' articles - I post on many forums and try to get something onto non-conspiracy ones every day and that takes up a bit of time, but I'll try to keep up with some recent relevant events in article form though. Also, I'll learn wiki... I really love reading wiki articles, its a great format and very professional.

Speaking of Wiki... I had an idea some of you pro wikians might be interested in... I don't know how many of you have checked out wikinews, but it could be a pretty good way to promote some ideas into a 'mainstream' outlet - thus reaching the 'masses' as opposed to us all preaching to the choire among ourselves wink.gif

Wikinews follows the NPOV policy, thus spinning any story would be frowned upon or disputed, however I've noticed they do not have an overabundance of articles, or good ones anyway, to begin with so ... keeping strictly neutral will not be an impediment because simply posting any RELEVANT article will keep the public eye on the IMPORTANT ISSUES. Anyway, its a window into the mainstream and I thought some of you might be interested in getting the word out, outside of the conspiracy circles. Its something I will look into in the future, when I've polished my skills a bit.

This invision is really quite powerful, I'm impressed.
