Germany plans 'cemetery pyramid' By Tristana Moore

It sounds like an absurd idea. The plan is to build a massive pyramid, filled with human remains, on a windswept field near the city of Dessau, eastern Germany. But the organisers of the project are adamant that this is not a PR stunt. There were pyramids in ancient Egypt, so why not in modern-day Germany, they argue.

"We're doing this because the world wants it," said Jens Thiel, one of the initiators of the project.

We're doing this because the world wants it - just like they wanted Damien Hurst's diamond encrusted skull a while back.

I'm done with sick occultists telling me what I want. How about you?

It's just a pyramid...

Tell me how that is sick?

With respect I didn't actually say the pyramid was sick in the OP, I said I was tired of sick occultists telling me what I want, which was a direct reference to the line "We're doing this because the world wants it". Now I'm not saying my community is necessarily representative of the whole world, but around these parts you'd do well to find a single person calling for the development of a pyramid-shaped tomb. Instead, most people here would like lower taxes or better services - and preferably both.

I'm quite happy to discuss occultism in a specific way: the occultism of Crowley, the Babylonians or the Catholic church for example - but they're all separate threads really; at least I think so. You might disagree.

That said, I actually do think the pyramid IS sick, esoterically speaking. It's more than just a geometrical shape isn't it? It's a temple of the dead and a celebration of the (so-called) New Age - and it's intended to be very large and in your face. Also, notice how each "stone" is in effect an individual tomb, neatly slotted into the stratified whole. How much would you pay to be placed near the top of the pile - and for what purpose? It's a purposeful celebration of death, the triumph of will and social inequality - the antithesis to life, love and peace on earth. A religious person might regard it as Luciferian.

Of course, if you disagree, I'm more than happy to discuss this further.

Nobody likes a pyramid scheme. Even though they exist in reality. I believe that this is not a PR stunt, but paganistic devil worshiping (by default) desire.

Though I wonder if this is some sort of occult/black magic stunt, dead people in a pyramid that is. I've heard pyramids are supposed to be powerful things or such.

Interesting spin there E. Who exactly are the sick occultists? Is that speculation or fact? Are all people who like pyramids occultists in some shape or form? I know what you said E, but I do try to read between the lines and see one's intentions - it wasnt that hard really; to call someone sick and occultist for wanting to build a pyramid says a lot more about you than what you were literally saying wink.gif

I don't understand why you denounce it as "spin" Faust. I'd call it a valid observation on those feasting on the public purse and promoting New Age BS. According to the article the pyramid project has received government funding and the writer goes out of their way to include the "world wants it" nonsense. That sounds more like spin to me.

That's a good question. I don't know; exactly. Do you?

I rather doubt it, but I thought we were focused a particular pyramid with the remains of millions of dead people in it, as opposed to pyramids as a genre.

Oh does it really? Pray tell: just what have you deduced about my motivations Sherlock?

No. I'm happy to discuss anything if I think I can learn something from it. I think what I said was quite clear. Do you have a useful contribution you'd wish to make?
