Given that I've occasionally sent a few $/£ to "Con"spiracycentral tracker, can I do same here and get more space for PMs?

I only have 2 posts in the PM box unsure.gif

...and its full, kind of.

How does this work - or is it a ploy to make us spring clean regularly?

Hi shuffle,

you should have much more space, I am at 9% of usage & have 47pms.

Can you create a screenshot?

errr... I was exagerrating a little to gain sympathy and pretend I had no friends.

But still it's no-where near your figure. Let me go have a look and I'll post or PM if need be.

<edit>

OK I have:

Your folders are 84% full

and 21 out of 25 max storage or something...

So I am just being lazy I guess. I just thought they are only text and can't take up that much room.

Notice you are over my PM limit *allowable*... ??

LMAO - caught! tongue.gif

I just sorted out this issue for you Shuffle, by upgrading you to VIP Member status smile.gif I meant to do this last week, but ran out of time before I needed to leave on business. Apologies for being so tardy that you needed to ask first blush.gif

In general, "New Members" automatically become "Members" after 15 posts - hence the small size of Newbies' PM boxes - there's not really any need for them to be any larger, since their status will automatically change to "Member" before their box fills up (unless they are staunch lurkers who rarely post, and I would imagine that they would PM a request to upgrade their mailbox if that became a problem for them).

As members' status changes from New Member, through Member, to Advanced Member, and eventually Senior Member, the space available for forum and Gallery uploads also gradually increases, as does the available time for editing posts, with the "edited by" flag becomming optional with more advanced ranks. This is all completely automatic, as it's a nice and easy way to ensure that valued contributers are rewarded for their efforts, while continually ensuring that everyone has sufficient space.

Please let us know if there's anything else that you feel is still a little too tight, although I believe that everything should be OK for you now smile.gif

I just fell of my luxury leather directors chair before I came here because I went to check a PM from Danis and I think it just said I had

9 GIGABYTES FREE for PMs.

I think you've given me half the server - the indicator thingy was on a millimeter compared to four hours ago. Thank you anyway smile.gif I like keeping little log of who said what when.

IPB is amazing in it's little config nuances.

<edit>

And yes the newbie thing has gone - can't take on the New UnderWhirrled Order as a noob can we??
Cypher
I notice that understatement has now given way to exaggeration - unless you've made a takeover bid for someone else's slice of the server's hard disk meantime as well? rofl.gif Still laughing at "luxury leather directors chair" - I'm really looking forward to meeting you Shuffle (y).gif

IPB is amazing - I love the configurability of it, and I think there should there should be enough knobs, gizmos and widgets on here to keep even the most ardent tweakers amused for a good while. You might also like to know that you can customise your member title anytime after reaching 10 posts - so you can set that to be anything you wish smile.gif

Once I'm happy that all of these settings are satisfactory, I will (maybe eventually) get around to documenting them properly*, so that people know what new features they can expect, and when to expect them.

~ M

* Please be aware that this may not happen for quite some time... unless I forget, in which case it may not happen at all wink.gif

Darn it. I'm busy and now you've given me an idea for a prank. Lets see if it works. wacko.gif

Ahhh, and the tracker thing I worked on for months [being crap] wasn't torrent trader but called "torrent pier". Maybe worth a look. I don't know what CTRL used but it looks similar to that.

You've sussed me far too soon.
Cypher
1) LMAO - nice one! laugh.gif
2) Ctrl doesn't use anything fancy at all, as he's still getting to grips with IPB itself smile.gif
3) I claim that as one point to me then - coz you apparently took me seriously on the Gucci / YSL thingy tongue.gif
