The Armenian Genocide — also known as the Armenian Holocaust, Great Calamity or the Armenian Massacre — refers to the forcible deportation and massacring of hundreds of thousands to over a million Armenians during the government of the Young Turks from 1915 to 1917 in the Ottoman Empire.

It is widely acknowledged to have been one of the first modern, systematic genocides, as many Western sources point to the sheer scale of the death toll as evidence for a systematic, organized plan to eliminate the Armenians. The event is also said to be the second-most studied case of genocide. To date twenty-one countries have officially recognized it as genocide. The Turkish government rejects the characterization of the events as genocide. (Source)

Rev. Bedros Hajian interviews Christopher Jon Bjerknes, author of the book "The Jewish Genocide of Armenian Christians." Topics discussed during the interviews: the Turkish Empire, Young Turks, Bolsheviks, the Doenmeh, Emmanuel Carasso, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Shabbatai Zevi, Lev Bronstein a. k. a. "Leon Trotsky", Vladimir Jaboinsky, Alexander Israel Lazarevich Helphand a. k. a. "Parvus", Freemasons, Crypto-Jews, Zionism, World War I, Amalek, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and more.

While the interviews are in English, the first minute is in Armenian. (It seems to be an American public access show)

Hi Ram, welcome to CoRe.

I don't mean to be funny, but you wouldn't happen to be Turkish, would you? The reason I ask is that, to the best of my knowledge, only the Turks deny that the Armenian Genocide occurred, although I could well be wrong on this matter - please do correct me if I am.

Whatever the case, I remember reading just over a year ago about about the assasination of Hrant Dink , an Armenian intellectual, by a Turkish nationalist. In the scandal that followed, some Turkish government officials hailed the assasin as a hero while he was held in police custody. Although Dink was a very moderate man, this incident paints a stark picture of the historical & political tensions which remain between the Armenians & Turks right up to the present day.

It's certainly in the interests of Turkish pride & nationalism to deny that the Armenian genocide ever happened, and your selection of sources (above) could be seen to reflect this - the first & fourth domains are registered in Turkey, the owner(s) of the 2nd & 3rd are faceless - protected as "Go-Daddy" registrants (many people use Go-Daddy if they want to conceal their identity), and the last three links are to blogs - individual opinion.

Whatever the true figures of the massacre were, it is quite certain - from the independant research of many - that from a small population of Armenians, at least hundreds of thousands of them were massacred on April 24th. Whichever way you look at it, this is still shocking, and far too many.

I honestly don't say this with the intention of offending anyone, although I realise that my opinion can hardly fail to inflame patriotic Turks, and for this I do apologise; however, I am most concerned that the UK government has already stated its intention of using Bio-weapons for ethnic cleansing. In my opinion, the more we bury and reject crimes against humanity from the past, the sooner we're likely to bring similar and probably far worse horrors on ourselves in the future.
