I actually get a lot of people who don't even register the fact this is a spoof, which is poetic and beautiful in addition to being extremely f***ing funny.

There's also a more conspicuous version with the claw exposed -- people will catch on quicker with this puppy:

(y).gif These are fantastic - I love them! I'd love to see some people's lack of reaction when they see these smile.gif

I do not get the joke...

I believe that if you look closely, you'll see that the image has been "photoshopped" ever so slightly, to enhance the overall evilness of "Ghouliani" (lol - Giuliani)'s countenance - Giuliani being the mayor of NYC who cares nothing for the victims of 9/11, and who is running for president in next year's elections.

On the other hand, maybe you're just pulling my leg & I just fell for it! doh.gif

The image is a painting of Nosferatu, the vampire from a classic German adaptation of Dracula, one of the first horror films ever made.

I posted this on myspace saying I'd be voting for Ghouliani and most of the responses I got were angry lectures -- I chose to take that as supremely entertaining instead of just infinitely depressing.

But, no photoshopping, that's an old painting from the movie promotion for Nosferatu, it's about the same age as my grandmother.

Aah, thank you for the history - I didn't recognise it as Nosferatu specifically, as I haven't watched many of the really old horror films.

On the bright side regarding the angry lectures, at least people cared enough to try to reprimand you... really wish I could have seen some of them though - hilarious! rofl.gif
