Any help explaining why, I have redownloaded the same torrent to the tracker several times to get it to see. The conspiracy torrent tracker is accepting the update, but it still shows up as 0 seeds.

Hi there, I'm looking into this for you right now, but I suspect that the problem may be either / a combination of:
1) Torrents don't show immediately, unless they're being seeded (if this is the case, simply try stopping & restarting your torrent)
2) Seeders who are "unconnectable" (i.e. don't have a port open for incomming peers) sometimes have further problems. By default, the tracker doesn't give out any information about unconnectable peers (since there's no point, as no-one can connect in to them). If you don't have your port open, it will take longer for the torrent to show up on the tracker.

What I will do for now is to force the torrents to show up immediately, and will also get back to you shortly with more info.

OK, I can see this issue has nothing to do with your ports, but I believe I have identified the reason for your problem.

Since you were uploading external torrents, tracked by your own tracker (http://www.anomalicresearch.org:7000), your own tracker needs to see that the file is being seeded before the CoRe tracker can scrape your tracker & report the number of seeds.

Also, I note that you changed the 6969 port of your tracker a couple of weeks ago, and have now made your default port 7000. This is most likely why you were having problems - you are uploading your old torrents to the CoRe tracker, which were created when your tracker was using port 6969 (and not port 7000, as it is now).

I also suspect that you changed these problematic torrents on your own PC, and added in your port 7000 announce URL.

If so, then yes, they will now show as seeded on the CoRe tracker, but no-one will be able to download from you, as the majority of torrents you uploaded are still instructing peers to use port 6969

Please slow down on your uploads until you have gotten the hang of what's going on here, as it causes undue annoyance for people when they find that they cannot download your files at all.

Give me a shout / PM / meet me in the encrypted chatroom here (you will need to sign up as a member of the forums first) if you are still having problems, as I know the workings of your type of trackerware inside-out, and I'd be delighted to to help you get things working properly at your end.

All the best,
Mairi

Okay I have a torrent editor. What was happening on initial Torrent creation was that the torrent announces were static inside the file no matter where it went. If the torrent downloaded had a mismatching announce it would not work.

I deleted the torrents that I had uploaded to you and can reupload them. I was in the middle of uploading them fresh but you disabled the account. I have been recreating the torrents from scratch to support both anomalicresearch, and conresearch, so I would be happy to reupload them.

Just for you information I have a ISP blocking 6969 I don't have an option of changing the torrent tracker to 6969 the announces have to match the 7000.

The trouble there was, I'd asked you to hang fire for operational reasons with the tracker, & at one point there were 3 copies of the same torrent flying about. That's why I had to put the brakes on you there for a bit, very sorry that I didn't have any other option sad.gif

Anyway, everything's all back as it should be now, & no-one got hurt biggrin.gif It was also a great reason for a chat with you last night - I really enjoyed that, & hope to catch you around in the chatroom again sometime smile.gif
