TiHKAL & PiHKAL are legendary chemistry/drug synthesis books written in a sort of journal format, from synthesis, to ingestion of the substance, to the hallucinogenic expieriences that ensue. Each book covers dozens of common and not so common substances - TIHKAL covering the tryptamine family (which includes the likes of DMT and Psilocybin amongst many others), PiHKAL covering the phenethylamine family (which includes MDMA, stimulants, and the 2C- family of chemicals as well as others.) These are an interesting read even if you don't understand the chemistry.
