Contrary to Margaret Gilmour's assertion, there is plenty of doubt regarding CCTV's usefulness in fighting crime & terrorism - a statement which seems to me to be at odds with the information that the City of London doesn't even have time to view all of the cameras. Recent statistics suggest that the UK is home to 20% of all the world's CCTV.

To the people who aren't disturbed by the fact that the UK is the most monitored country in the world, I ask, "Why do you trust the government with this data? Do you really, truly believe that they can be trusted with it? You might have nothing to hide, but what is the government hiding from you?".

We only have to look at their bogus reasons for war in Afghanistan and Iraq to know that they cannot be trusted.
